Abstract

This research examines improving speaking skills using creative montage media with the LGTC technique. The main problem of this research is the obstacles in the learning process in the aspect of speaking skills. During learning activities, students' articulation and intonation when speaking are sometimes unclear. Apart from that, students lack the confidence to report the results of their work orally. The aim of this research is to find out whether creative montage media using the LGTC technique can improve the speaking skills of class V students at SDN 25 Parenreng. This research used classroom action research (PTK) on 16 students in class V of SDN 25 Parenreng. Data collection used observation instruments of teacher and student activities and speaking skills tests. Data analysis uses qualitative analysis. The results of this research show that in cycle I students' speaking skills had an average score of 67.18 and in cycle II they had an average score of 78.43. Apart from that, the percentage of student completion in cycle I was 62.5% and cycle II was 75%. So it can be said that there has been an increase in students' speaking skills with creative montage media using the LGTC technique.
