Abstract

This study was conducted with the main objective of identifying innovative solutions that can improve students' skills and creativity in the science process. The low science process is caused by ineffective student learning activities such as students are only given assignments through notes without being given the opportunity to explore things related to the lesson. The model used in this study is the problem based learning (PBL) model. This study uses the type of classroom action research (PTK). This study was conducted with 24 research subjects who were grade IV students. Data collection used observation instruments and questionnaires. Data analysis used a percentage formula. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the problem based learning (PBL) model in science learning was carried out well. This can be proven by increasing observation results. The increase can be shown by an increase in the average acquisition in each cycle. The average value of student skills in cycle I reached 66.72, the average value in cycle II reached 73.83 so it can be concluded that student skills have increased. While the increase in creativity is shown by an increase in the average acquisition in each cycle. The average value in cycle I reached 76.33, the average value in cycle II reached 79.89, so it can be concluded that student creativity increased in each cycle.
