Abstract

This study aims to analyze and determine the scientific literacy skills of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 5 Padanglampe in solving science problems. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects of the study were 3 subjects obtained from 20 fifth grade students of SD Negeri 5 Padanglampe. Data collection using scientific literacy test sheet instruments and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques consist of three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the scientific literacy skills of fifth grade students in solving science problems were divided into three categories, namely 3 students with high categories, 16 students with medium categories, and 1 student with low categories. Students with high category scientific literacy skills can meet all five indicators of scientific literacy. Students with medium category scientific literacy skills in number 1 meet all five indicators, then for number 2 indicators 1, 2, 3, and 5 can meet all five indicators while indicator 4 is not met, and for number 3 meets all five indicators. Students with low scientific literacy skills in category 1 cannot fulfill all five indicators, then for number 2 they cannot fulfill all five indicators, and for number 3 they only fulfill indicator 1 while for indicators 2, 3, 4 and 5 they cannot fulfill them
