Abstract

This study is a Qualitative Research with a descriptive research method that aims to describe reading skills in grade III students at SDN 19 Kajuara using learning videos for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The subjects of this study were all grade 3rd students at SDN 19 Kajuara totaling 13 people and the researcher took 4 people as representatives from each category after being given a test to be described in this study. Data collection using reading ability tests, teacher and student interviews. The results of the study showed that out of 13 students, there were 4 students who were in the very poor category (their reading ability was very low and they did not recognize most of the letters), 1 student was in the poor category (they already knew the letters but could not distinguish between vowels and consonants and could not put words together), 5 students were in the good category (they were already fluent in reading, could not distinguish between vowels and consonants and were able to put some words into a sentence), and 3 students were in the very good category (they were already fluent in reading, knew the vowels and were able to put words into a sentence well).
