Abstract

Laki-laki dan Perempuan saat ini berada dalam suatu kesetaraan. Tetapi karaktertistik yang melekat di dalam stereotipe jenis kelamin sering membuat keduanya berada dalam ruang perbedaan. Wanita dianggap lebih mudah larut dalam suatu keadaan emosional, dan kemudian membuatnya beresiko mengalami ketidakamanan psikologis. Tetapi laki-laki justru sebaliknya, cenderung lebih fokus untuk menyelesaikan ketidaknyamanannnya dan kemudian tidak ingin larut dalam aspek emosionalitas dari ketidakamanan yang dirasakannya. Terlepas apakah ini setereotipe, kenyataannya pandangan ini masih terus bergulir. Setereotipe ini tidak dapat dibenarkan secara subjektif. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan kajian yang objektif untuk menguji secara empiris tentang psikologis aman berdasarkan perspektif jenis kelamin. Sebanyak 189 responden perempuan dan 47 responden laki-laki yang menekuni bidang keilmuan psikologi dilibatkan untuk mendapatkan data penelitian. Intrumen yang berupa kuesioner diberikan untuk mengetahui tentang kondisi, pihak di luar diri, bidang kehidupan yang berperan menciptakan psikologis aman, dan kebutuhan akan rasa aman. Hasil analisis menemukan bahwa kondisi kehidupan pribadi, keluarga dan bidang kesehatan dipilih menjadi preferensi tentang psikologis aman oleh respon kelompok perempuan dan laki-laki. Di antara laki-laki dan perempuan juga tidak ditemukan perbedaan tingkatan yang signifikan untuk kebutuhan rasa aman. Preferensi akan psikologis aman, dan besarnya kebutuhan akan rasa aman tidak dapat ditentukan oleh disposisi jenis kelamin
