ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN NUMBER SENSE SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN MASALAH MATEMATIS

Seorang siswa yang berlatih dan belajar matematika melalui algoritma secara teratur bisa mendapatkan nilai tinggi dalam ujian sekolah hingga tingkat tertentu, tetapi kinerja matematika di masa depan tidak hanya bergantung pada perolehan nilai tinggi dalam ujian sekolah. Hal ini sangat bergantung pada kemampuan number sense seseorang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan number sense siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang dilakukan di SMPN 3 Burau Kabupaten Luwu Timur. Pemilihan subjek penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes tertulis, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi memenuhi semua indikator number sense pada materi pecahan, 2) siswa dengan kemampuan sedang belum mampu menguasai konsep number sense secara keseluruhan karena hanya memenuhi 4 indikator number sense 3) Siswa dengan kemampuan rendah hanya mampu memenuhi 2 indikator yaitu mengidentifikasi keterurutan dan keteraturan pada sistem bilangan pecahan dan merepresentasikan urutan bilangan.
