KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA BERDASARKAN SIKAP DAN GENDER

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII SMPN 8 Balikpapan ditinjau dari sikap dan gender. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII tahun ajaran 2017/2018 yang berjumlah 378 siswa. Sampel merupakan siswa kelas VIII yang terpilih dengan cluster random sampling berjumlah 217 siswa. Siswa yang terpilih sebagai sampel menyelesaikan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dan mengisi kuisioner sikap terhadap matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan faktorial 2x2. Hasil ANAVA dua jalan mengungkapkan bahwa: 1) siswa dengan sikap positif memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang lebih baik dari pada siswa dengan sikap negatif, 2) tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika ditinjau dari gender (laki-laki maupun perempuan), serta 3) tidak terdapat interaksi antara sikap dan gender terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa.
